Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 1, 2026
Mahj-ic ("we," "our," or "the app") is a companion app for physical American Mah Jongg play. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it's used.
What Mahj-ic tracks
Mahj-ic exists to help you track a physical Mah Jongg game in progress. To do that, it stores:
- Your account information (email address and display name, if you provide one)
- Game session details you enter (player count, optional player names, Charleston usage, East designation)
- Your personal Mahjong win history (date, time, card year, and optional card section/line)
- Your card-cycle reset date preference
Mahj-ic does not use a camera, does not scan or recognize physical tiles, and does not track opponents' statistics beyond what you optionally name them for display during a session.
What Mahj-ic does not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not show ads or use your data for ad targeting.
- We do not share your Mahjong history with other users or third parties.
How your data is stored
Your account and game history are stored so they persist across sessions and devices tied to your account. Data is retained until you delete your account or request deletion.
Your choices
You can edit or remove player names, reset your active game, or clear your recorded history at any time from within the app's Settings. To delete your account and associated data entirely, contact us using the details below.
Children's privacy
Mahj-ic is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and, for material changes, note it within the app.
